Ineke & Thomas used to work at Travellers Auto Barn where they felt madly in love. Now they are back for their wedding & honeymoon in our campervan!!!

For their wedding they wanted to share again the emotions they had for their first encounter, so they decided to have their honeymoon in one of our campers in a trip around Australia. Congratulations to them! We wish them all the best and a lot of babies who will become Travellers Auto Barn customer in 20 years

MEET TIM!!!

I have been making the video podcast ‘Snowfix’ for the last 5 years. It basically came about when a friend and I did our first ski season, we decided we wanted to keep skiing but didn’t want to do the horrible resort jobs, so we started making videos. Within one year we had created the world’s most popular skiing/snowboarding podcast and also turned it into a TV show on the Extreme Sports Channel on sky all across Europe.

When I am not making the show, in the summer I move back to London and due to the short amount of time I am around for, generally live with Aussies that are over here travelling. Subsequently I have been saying for years that I was going to do a big trip and visit all those guys I lived with, and the Vantastic tour seems the perfect chance.

After sorting out our credit cards, we were able to depart a day late from Sydney at last to escape from the lousy weather, and were heading into the tropical climate of Cairns.
Full of adventure and a sack full of expectations in the luggage, we were as much mileage as possible behind us and made our first stop in Hat Head right on a picturesque, secluded beach on which we celebrated until late into the night, our long-awaited road trip start.

Unfortunately, we were awakened the next day shortly after sunrise by heavy rains and this drove us further up north into sunny Queensland.

If sore heads around the office are anything to go by last nights Golden Backpacks awards dinner was a night to remember, or not as the case may be. Honestly, I’ve seen more productive dole queues at 9am than this office this morning.

Going into last nights award having won the previous two years was an exciting albeit daunting prospect. We’d been nominated among some massive players in Oz/NZ travel – Virgin Blue, Tiger Airways, Greyhound – These are some seriously heavy hitters in travel circles. It’s an achievement to even be nominated next to names like that.

Big Sam Kekovich was on had to add a bit of true Aussie flavour to proceedings and did a stand up job. These things can turn into a bit of a “Logies” nightmare if you’ve got a dud presenter but Sam pulled out all the stops to get the 450 strong crowd going.

Unfortunately at the end of the day we didn’t get enough votes to make it three in a row but still a second place in a field like that is nothing to be sniffed at. Congratulation go to Greyhound who took home the silverware on the night. Enjoy your win but just wait till next year!!!
