Was tasked with minding our 3 kids and 2 of their friends the other day. So 5 screaming kids running around the house. I was attempting to do some work on the computer when I heard the cry ‘SNAKE!!!!!’ from the backyard. leaping out of the chair, I ran downstairs barefoot, grabbed a broom and told all the kids to stand behind me. Absolutely crapping my pants.
“Ok so who saw the snake?” Where was it?” “What colour was it?” “Where did it go?”…..”didn’t I tell oyu kids to stay BEHIND ME!!!”
Nervously searching the garden, I find the snake curled up in exactly the same place the kids saw it, it had not moved, and still hasn’t moved for about 3 days now. It’s, for a snake, the most beautiful snake, I’ve ever seen. Looked it up on the web and it would be a Diamond Python, maybe with a bit of carpet python thrown in, as apparently they will cross breed. Appears to have eaten a decent sized bird or small mammal and is lazily digesting it’s meal. We call him/her Sammy. Apparently it’s not quite big enough to eat our 2 year old, so I think we’ll keep it for a bit longer.

KINGS CROSS CAR MARKET –R.I.P.–

The world famous Kings Cross Car Market that operated since 1991 from the Kings Cross Car park is sadly no longer. The old Car market was an institution, a place where backpackers would arrive with the most amazing array of aussie automotive buckets you were ever likely to see in one place. Good cars, cheap cars, outrageously over-priced cars, cars full of camping gear and outdoor gadgetry, cars on their last legs, cars that entered and never left, vans, bloody Kombi Vans, 4×4′s, and lots of Ford Falcon Stationwagons.
