Ho ho ho … What a fantastic Christmas party we had last Thursday, especially after all these busy weeks in December – don’t wanna think of the upcoming weeks either!!! Peak season for the Tourism industry means not much sleep for us, but with the right team it is fun too, especially if you all go nuts on a yacht in stunning Sydney Harbour with free booze and finger food :)

The party was held on the Sports Yacht owned by Wake Up! Hostel or more correctly the Millet Family. Wake Up! is Sydney’s Number One Hostel….by far… great location, super clean facilities, travel desk and the 7 day a week backpacker bar ‘Side Bar’. We can’t recommend the hostel highly enough and want to thank Christian, Margaret and Warren for their ongoing support for Travellers Auto Barn and their genuine kindness. Big Thanks from everyone at Travellers Auto Barn!

Merry Christmas everyone !!

Here we go, here we go, here we goooo ….

Last weekend, my workmate Nicole, a common friend of ours from New York Anthony and I headed towards Arrawarra to be part of the Mojo Surf Festival 2011. The Spot X Surf Camp which is thirty minutes north of Coffs Harbour and around three hours south of Byron Bay is a secret surf camp haven for backpackers from around the globe and a handful of locals; a place totally devoted to a surfers lifestyle. Located in a National Marine Park, Spot X provides a unique opportunity to spend time in one of Australia’s most gorgeous coastal areas promising long days in the sun and waves leading to memorable nights around the camp fire. When our company provided us with a Deluxe Campervan and FREE fuel there was no longer a decision to be made – we were heading north!

Probably best to sleep on it.

A word of warning from our Cairns office this week about the delicate line between balancing your travel budget verses staying safe during your Aussie travels.

We have a huge amount travellers arriving into all of our branches after long haul flights from Asia, Europe and America all geared up and ready to take on their great Aussie adventure. For some they have come straight from the airport after a 12-24 hour flight and just want to hit the road ASAP.

We’ll if this is you, just take a look at what happened in our Cairns branch last evening when two Danish guys collected their camper after coming in straight from the airport.

It’s a well know story – mild mannered, hard worker by day leads an exciting double life at night, except in this case he’s not saving citizens from peril or thwarting evil at every turn. In this case he’s strumming a guitar and singing tunes for Brisbane’s beer drinking public – and thankfully he wears his undies on the inside.
