After sorting out our credit cards, we were able to depart a day late from Sydney at last to escape from the lousy weather, and were heading into the tropical climate of Cairns.
Full of adventure and a sack full of expectations in the luggage, we were as much mileage as possible behind us and made our first stop in Hat Head right on a picturesque, secluded beach on which we celebrated until late into the night, our long-awaited road trip start.

Unfortunately, we were awakened the next day shortly after sunrise by heavy rains and this drove us further up north into sunny Queensland.

We hardly arrived in Yamba, it was already dark. A quick stop at the next bottle shop (delicious Goon-chen), and identified a place for the night, and started our first GetAway Party … In the parking lot we got into conversation with locals who invited us along on a Schoolies party on the beach with a campfire and the occasional fights… Aussie style.
Just in time for the weekend we arrived in Byron Bay, were we attended as many parties as possible! The afterparty continued at our car with loud music & the newest club on the streets in Byron.

On our way to Brisbane we stopped in Nimbin – something you simply can not miss.
In Brisbane, we were able to stay with friends over the weekend and could once again sleep in real beds and showers always hot;)
The Oktoberfest in Brisbane was not safe from us! Especially since it had to expose itself to us – the real Bavarian test=> smaller, but even messier hehehe!
Anyone who spends much time in Oz has to learn surfing! An ideal spot for this is simple, with most diverse Noosa beaches for beginners and professionals! Thanks to the Getaway Car, none of these beaches were inaccessible to us, or even longer than 5 minutes away.

About Rainbow Beach, we went into the tour to Fraser Iceland. Once again, a grandiose nature, which we had to be processed with late night beers and BBQ. After 3 days our adrenalin level had reached a new pick and we couldnt wait to drive up further north.
After days of nature and adventure were again hot on party! So off to Airlie Beach! The party and Whitsunday town full of backpackers, all of them have only one thing in mind – alcohol & sex! There is nothing sexier than to cure this hangover on a cruise around the Whitsunday Islands! We can only recommend it!
31.10. => Halloween in Townsville A whole street with pubs, clubs and bars is the perfect place for party animals like us.

The most recommended MUST SEE LAKE throughout Queensland is the Paronella Park (Mena Creek) It is widely described around Australia as indescribeable. And to be honest, we were just speechless except => Amazing!
Still not tired of the rain forest and wet, we made our way to Northern Cape Tribullation where we spent our last night with our Getaway Car, which had grown to our heart by now. What a perfect end! Hikes in the rainforest, sunrise, jogging on the beach & eating wild mangoes!
