Our Toyota HiTOPS Campervans are amazingly reliable and are very well maintained mechanically. Toyota can take most of the credit but we do look after them very well, it pays to do so, we really do not want any of our rental customers stranded by breakdown anywhere, especially some where in the outback.
 In fact, they are so good we’d like to keep renting them but as we rent a lot of our vehicles through travel agents we do have to keep the age of the fleet down. As a result every year towards the end of high season we start to sell (defleet) some of the older vehicles, not because they are tired and old and in need of a rest but simply because we want to keep the rental vehicles all under 8 years old (or thereabouts).

Let’s do some sums
Obviously if you’re buying a camper you’ve probably got a trip around Australia in mind. That involves a lot of kilometres, usually in 5th gear just cruising along. THIS is EXACTLY what these vehicles have been doing and LOVE doing. During your trip you will save a fortune on accommodation. We are also very confident that any of the vehicles will perform reliable and to your expectations. At the end of your trip, you will sell the camper, probably for more than $10,000 ($10,000 would be a bad day at the office). So, even if you bought the camper for $19,000, and you sold it a year later, the differential of $9000 divided by 1 year (365 days) = $24.65 per day. And that’s paying $19,000 and selling for a lowly $10,000kms. Imagine you only paid $16,000 and sold it for $13,000? That’s $8.22 per day!!!!
You might ask yourself why, in the example above, are the re-sale estimates so low…….2 reasons, ..1. When it’s your turn to sell the vehicle you will not be including any of the many, many services and warranties we are offering with the vehicle and …2 You may not enjoy, or want to put a lot of effort into selling your car….It’s hard work, there’s also the chance that you may actually not be a very good seller!
