The GetAway Car

From August 2009 Travellers Auto Barn, The Gaff (Sydney) and Rhino Bar (Cairns) will be providing the perfect escape vehicle for backpackers - The GetAway Car - a classic Aussie stationwagon.

Every two months a winner will be chosen and given 6 weeks to travel along the East Coast starting August 2009 to August 2010. Winner will have 6 weeks to drive from Sydney to Cairns or Cairns to Sydney. The Sydney give-away will be presented by The Gaff, which was voted being the best backpacker bar in NSW 2008. The Rhino Bar, well known for its outrageous themed nights, will choose the winner in Cairns.

August 2009 Winners

Benny & Amir from Israel were the first winners of The GetAway Car. This is what they had to say about their trip:

"We started our trip from Cairns and went up to Cape Tribulation with anothertwo hitch-hikers. Cape Tribulations was definitely one of the best places in the trip after that we went down to Mission Beach stayed at an awesome backpackers called the Tree House. We then went down to Airlie Beach (Whitsundays was amazing) were we picked up two ladies (YEAH!!!). French & Italian - we went with them to Fraser and Byron Bay. And at the end to Sydney ...The trip was wicked and so was Matilda (our car) - thank you so much Travellers Auto Barn"
