North

Brisbane to Glass House Mountains

A short, one-hour drive north of Brisbane will bring you to the Glass House Mountains. They are a cluster of 13 hills that rise from the coastal plane and basically stick out like a sore thumb. They are an awe-inspiring collection which offer the perfect opportunity for hiking or just gazing at them. There is an Indigenous mythology behind the cluster which explains how they were created. Get ready to pack your trail mix, lace up your hiking boots, and hit the tracks!

After somewhere to stay? There are lots of camping grounds near Glass House Mountains to set up shop for the night. One of the closer ones called Glass House Mountains Caravan and Camping Park which is a great place to stop if you’re climbing the mountains.

Brisbane to Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is everything you could want in a holiday destination. Pristine beaches, natural wonders, and fabulous attractions all contribute to its reputation. There are enough day trips to fill an entire year of weekends on the Sunshine Coast, a few at the top of the bucket list are chasing waterfalls, hiring a kayak for a paddle up Noosa Everglades, or just going off the beaten track in Mary Valley. One of the biggest attractions to the Coast is the famous Australian Zoo which Steve Irwin poured his heart and soul into. Brisbane to Noosa

Have you been to Byron Bay and loved every minute? Try checking out Noosa! Like Byron Bay, Noosa offers the relaxation of golden sand with the chance of spotting Whales! It will take just under 2-hours to reach this destination from Brisbane. The main street is lined with quaint boutiques and friendly locals. Noosa is well known for its heavy surf and serenity. A coastal trail tuns north past Noosa beaches of Noosa National Park, home to Koalas around Tea Tree Bay.

South

Brisbane to Gold Coast

Most people have heard of the Gold Coast, the city famed for its long, sandy beaches, surfing spots and theme parks. Just one hours drive South of Brisbane, you could easily spend your entire weekend lazing round on the golden sand, soaking up the sun. Are you a foodie? Taste the Gold Coast culinary scene, its one served with a side of alfresco and more!

Once you’ve had your taste of the culinary scene, head over to Main Beach Tourist Park to park up for the night!

Brisbane to Byron Bay

Travel another hour south of Gold Coast you will discover the famous Byron Bay. If this coastal town isn’t on your bucket list, it should be! Alongside the vibrant community spirit, Byron Bay hosts world-class festivals, offers a unique shopping experience, and gives the opportunity to whale watch! Are you a cookie lover? Byron Bay Cookies are some of the best in the world. This coastal town is full of adventure and a lot of fun! Don’t miss Cape Byron Lighthouse. Here, you will be standing on Australia’s most easterly point.
