We booked a van for 4 days to chill out at south coast. It was my first van experience and first manual car I was driving in Australia. And I loved it. The van was pretty comfy and had all we needed. I purchased a hi5 campervan. The buying experience was great, the staff are friendly and very easy to deal with. Everything from the try before you buy to get a feel for the vehicle, to buying the camper was extremely easy. After a couple of months I had some trouble with the van and with no questions asked they fixed it under warranty. I would highly recommend buying a campervan from them.read more

Loved our trip. It is such a great experience travelling Australia, in a campervan. Yes there were bushfires in Australia while we were there, but it is such a large country there was lots of places that were not affected. So we still had a trip of a lifetime. My girlfriend and I were more than happy with our choice to book with Travellers Autobarn for our stay and would definitely book again with you! We can only recommand hiring a car with them. Not only we found our campervan in good condition and well thought through equipped. Also Scott was more than helpful when checking in to our Campervan. We had issues with our booking agency but he is helpful, professional and on a personal level indeed very caring! He provided us all information we needed and offered us a freshly opened coconut to start our holiday perfectly relaxed. We rented a Toyota Hice Hitop, which was really the best choice for our stay. A year ago we bought an ex-rental Toyota Hiace (HiTop) at TA Sydney. We were entirely new to the process of buying a car and TA really helped us with every step. Special thanks to David Juenemann, who left the van to us in excellent condition and answered all of our questions. We went back for a service twice at TA, because we know it is the best! When you are looking for a roadtrip adventure, we would a 100% recommend to go to TA for your vehicle (rental or for sale). Our van is still in great condition and we're looking forward to our adventures with it for another year in Oz!!read more

Scott was really welcoming, friendly and funny from the very first second and came to us straight away to help us as we arrived. Everything was shown and explained to us and even though we had to wait a bit because they needed to fix a small thing, we were shortly after on the road with two chairs which we got for the waiting, without us asking or complaining! We bought our beloved Mitsubishi Express from Stefan from Travellers Autobarn in Cairns.Travellers Autobarn, especially Stefan, was so helpful and answered all our questions during our trip, even 3 months after we bought it. Once another car hit our van and our bumper was broken. Travellers Autobarn in Sydney fixed it for free! And also when we broke our camping chairs they gave us new for free. We would absolutely recommend the company and we would by a van again from them!Even if our van has run many kilometers, we never had any problems with it. It’s so nice that the car was fully equipped, so we didn’t have to buy anything. We had an amazing time at the east coast with it! We couldn‘t have found a better car for our trip!read more

Absolutely loved everything about using this company. Not a single negative thing to say. The van was exactly as expected, clean, fully functioning and comfortable. We travelled from Sydney to Cairns and everything ran so smoothly. We booked a last minute van after another company fell through and it was a blessing in disguise! We took insurance out and when we got a chip in the windshield, everything was sorted with out a drama. It was a perfect experience, made even better knowing we were in good hands with people that take pride in providing exceptional customer service. Seeing so many of these vans on the road during our travels was re assuring also! 10/10 can not wait to travel in these vans again!read more

Bought an older ex rental campervan from the Sydney branch and I can not say enough good things about the service we were given. From the outset everything was well explained and it gave us a lot more confidence out on the road. The van itself was fantastic, exactly what you would expect from an older vehicle but it had been immaculately maintained and the only fault we had while out while travelling Australia was a blown fuse. The guys were also fantastic when servicing it. Great experience all round.read more

We hired a Kruga Van in 2017 for a short holiday and on the back of that again for a three week holiday in early 2019. We travelled from Sydney to Tasmania via inland and then back to Sydney via the coast travelling over 4000km. The van didn't miss a beat was so well fitted out and everything was either new and/or clean. Everyone we dealt with at Travellers Autobarn was helpful and efficient and knew their job well. The van made the holiday and we'd certainly recommend TA to anyone who wants to have a well priced travelling break. Oh and I have no affiliations with TA!!!Johnread more

I recently returned from a fantastic 4 weeks vacation with my friends, travelling from Sydney to Cairns in the HI5 Campervan. There were some minor damages in the Van, which we discovered bit by bit during our ride, for example broken casings and the defect (yet usable) gas stove. But considering that the car had run 600.000km already when we got it, it was in a very good condition. None of the damages stated a serious problem, and it is obvious that things get damaged when an object is used this frequently. The Van was absolutely clean when we picked it up. Pillows, sleepingbags, sheets as well as the pans were wrapped in plastic, making everything as hygenic as possible.Now besides the very pleasing occurence of the van, I need to mention the extreme friendliness of the staff at Travellers Autobarn. During the pick up there were some confusions and problems, but the Lady in Cairns (unfortunately I do not know her name) was patient and tried her best to help us - successfully. The staff in Cairns was just as friendly when we returned the car.Overall a great vacation! Due to the smaller damages I will not give five stars, though. However I would recommend Travellers Autobarn to any roadtrip enthusiasts!read more

We hired a car in a relocation deal and the customer service was excellent. The car was in fine working order and staff were very helpful. Be warned: speak to staff beforehand about how tolls work in Australia if you’re not sure. Tolls are very confusing/unfair in Australia and you need to avoid admin fees ($75 a pop!).read more

We weren't really familiar with the different rental companies in Australia but after contacting a few we decided on Travellers Autobarn. From booking our rental to pick up and drop off, everyone from the team that we encountered were super friendly and professional at the same time. Everything went really smooth and we always felt like we were in good hands.At first we weren't sure about going with a station wagon but in the end we were very happy that we did. With the station wagon we had the flexibility of sleeping where we felt most comfortable with the temperature that day. Sometimes we slept in the station wagon (more than enough room for 2), the tent (that comes included), or a hostel with air conditioning (and not feeling bad about spending the money on that as we weren't spending much per day on the rental anyway). In the end it was the perfect option for us!read more

Great vehicle- The Chubby was perfect for two to travel in comfort. Ours was obviously still quite new and clearly just been refitted, so was very easy to drive and enjoy! When a medical emergency cut our trip short, the team at Travellers Autobarn were very helpful and considerate, I really can't fault the service! The only issue I could find was that the electrical hook-up point didnt seem to work - the cable just wouldn't stay snug, meaning the one night we actually bothered with a powered campsite was a bit of a waste. It didn't really impact us anyway as keeping mobiles charged was easy with all the extra USB points in the van ;) If you were going to be charging laptops/camera batteries, I would recommend you give everything a little test-run on pick-up, just to be sure!I'll certainly be using TA again in the future; every other backpacker van we passed on our journey just didn't compare to our suprisingly spacious Chubby :)read more

This was the second time we choose Travellers Autobarn as our rental company in Australia. Last time we booked a Kuga Campervan, but this time we went for the Chubby Camper as we wanted to experience the real vanlife.The guys from TA were very nice and helpful when we checked in at the station in Melbourne. We had a bit of a problem with our credit card (our limit was reached) but they did everything they could to help us solve the problem. Thanks again for your patience we really appreciate it!Driving the van was easy and comfortable with a lot of space in the front cabin. It has a really good built in air condition that guaranteed having always the temperature we needed (heat in the morning, cool in the afternoon).When we compared our van with others we realized that ours was slightly bigger what we really appreciated. We were pleased with the extra room we had. Especially when you are a bit taller you will be very happy with this van for sure. We spent 8 nights in this van and slept every single night so good! Very comfy cushions, pillows and good quality sleeping bags.The equipment of the van (kitchen stuff, sleeping bags, pillows, towels etc.) were in good condition, some of them even brand new. We got everything we needed and were content with the provided equipment. All in all we had a great time and were glad we’ve chosen Travellers Autobarn again.Have a safe trip guys! Enjoy :)read more

We have had such a good time in our campervan! The crew at Travellers Autobarn are very helpful, friendly and professional. A special thanks to Toni in Sydney, despite checking in people for about four or five different vehicles she was attentive to everybody, including providing cold fresh coconuts while we waited.To new customers: do bare in mind it takes quite a while to process the paperwork, check the vehicle over and do all the other bits. I have had the best experience with Travelers Autobarn.The vehicle was very clean and it had everything I needed for three weeks trip. It is well designed with everything you need on the road. Water tanks are enough for three days use. easy to fill up fresh water and depose of the Gray water with all the connections inside the storage are. It had enough storage for all my bags. the LPG gas bottle was enough for me the whole trip and can be filled in any petrol station and it had the generic connection. battery had enough charge to last. I was freedom camping most of the time and I didn't need to go to campsite. It has a 2xUSB charging ports to charging while you camping. It has electricity points if you connected the Van to powered site.The van have enough space to stand up comfortably with no issues(I am 6.2).Mechanically the van was great. I drove almost 4000km with not a single issues.The staff member both on pickup and drop off were very professional and helpful. On pick up they recommended some places to go which was great. Joseph was great and explained everything about the vehicle and gave me enough tips for driving in NZ. I had to call the centre twice in my trip. The staff answered and helped me in every way I needed. When dropping the van off staff were very welcoming and made the transaction very fast and easy.I highly recommend this company staff members are very professional and makes you feel like family.
