Today we focus in the famous Sydney to Melbourne (or vice versa) road trip. There are many highlights and you can choose if you would like to travel inland or along the costs but we definitely recommend the following spots:
First Stop
ROYAL NATIONAL PARKThe Royal National Park is the first attraction once you have left Sydney down south – approx. 1 hour drive. The park is famous for its great ocean road drive, walks as well as some of its beaches –Â Wattamolla is a highlight! On the beach you are surrounded by ocean water in the East & by lake water in the Western…
Stop 2
JERVIS BAYAn absolute must – it has to be on your list when travelling in this area. Jervis Bay is known for one of the whitest beaches in the world & its blue waters – it is just fantastic. Park at any of the fantastic caravan parks and enjoy the white beaches, the national parks, snorkelling, dolphin watch tours and if you lucky you will even spots lots of kangaroos on the beach – its a great experience! Jervis Bay is around a 2.5 hrs drive from Sydney south.
Stop 3
KANGAROO VALLEYKangaroo Valley is a dream for anyone who loves the green scenery – mountains, national parks & widlife are highlights in this area. It’s also great for canoeing, bush walks or bike trips. Kangaroo Valley is about 2.5 hrs drive from Sydney.
Stop 4
CANBERRAOk, well you have to visit the national capital of Australia – don’t you ? Too be honest it’s not the most exciting town and if you are partying, exploring and so on this is not the place for you. However if you into politics & museums this is not a place to miss. Stop 5
BEGACheese & wine lover? This is the place for you – in Bega the famous BEGA CHEESE is produced and a great stop for anyone who loves their cheese. Once you are in Bega you are about half way between Sydney & Melbourne.
Stop 6
LAKES ENTRANCEThis little down is party build on water – competition for Venice lol. It’s another great area with white beaches & also ideal for surfers and popular throught the year due to its mild climate. This is your first destination in VIC and around 4 hours from Melbourne.
Stop 7
WILSONS PROMONTORY NATIONAL PARKThis national parks offers some great scenery – eucalypt forest (KOALAS), rainforest, beaches and white sandy beaches…what are you waiting for ;-) Great for fishing & snorkeling and delivers some of the best panoramas of Victoria. You are now about 3.5 hours away from Melbourne.
Final Stop
